Concert Burg Veldenstein-
Burg Neuhaus 21/07/2011
Walking up the medieval pebbled
road to Castle Veldenstein, the voice of Candice rehearsing: ‘Barbara
Allen’ behind
the old castle walls, created a pleasant anxiety to those of us who
had come early to the venue. The castle itself, the fans in garb,
even the weather evoked a mood right out of Medieval times in a
gathering of a band of Minstrels, in a night that was to be special.
This was the band’s first show of the European leg, and it could
only be in Germany and in one of Ritchie’s favourite Castles.
The show opened with Minstrel
Albert and his magic tunes. As in most concerts, Albert started
the show moving around and mixing with the audience creating a
merry atmosphere, ‘inviting’, everyone to share his folk
melodies and improvisations; the audience responded immediately
by clapping rhythmically and enjoying themselves. A great
moment came when ‘The Lord of the Rings’ main
theme was heard. However, this year we were pleasantly surprised
when Albert appeared on stage with Elizabeth Cary-the band’s
violin player-in a wonderful duet. The combination of Gypsy Rose
and Minstrel Albert was not only interesting visually, but also
in terms of their music; in particular, Albert’s composition ‘Sommer
Ballade’a sad piece, reached the
audience’s heart. Albert concluded with his ocarina, an
instrument that despite its size proved remarkably pleasant in
its sounds and melodies, as it ‘became alive’ at Albert’s hands,
weaving through people’s emotions. A great opening act.
After a short intermission, the
first notes of: ‘God
save the keg’ echoed
in the German summer night, while Ritchie was doodling over the
top of it on his guitar behind stage. As the minstrels got on
stage Candice Night, in an impressive dress, entered and kicked
off the show with: ‘Locked within the crystal Ball,’
a piece that set the audience straight on their feet, as Ritchie
Blackmore followed his muse on stage. Ritchie has always had
that special aura on stage, and it is always an experience to
see him shrouded in a veil of mystery, absorbed in his music in
‘his’ corner, always professional and very serious about his
music, just like a classical composer from the past. The
influence of his Renaissance masters and the likes of figures
like T.Susatto have had an obvious impact throughout his music
and the stage presentation, which resembles strongly a
Renaissance pub from some distant past….and that perhaps
explains the beers that Ritchie kept handing over to fans
throughout the show.
Best moments during the
concert: Candice’s mesmerising and warm voice, her passion,
smile and fairy presence on stage. In terms of stage
performance: ‘Ghost of a Rose,’
Baez’s: ‘Diamonds and Rust’, and
‘Strawberry girl ‘from
their latest album; Ritchie’s fantastic solo on: ‘Soldier
of Fortune ‘on
the electro acoustic that made the audience go absolutely
silent-in fact everyone was reluctant to start clapping after
the end of the song in fear of breaking this feeling of
absolute musical perfection the audience had experienced.
David’s solo performance on the organ and opera singing, the
Earl’s energy and ever passionate playing, Elizabeth’s presence
and masterful ‘visit’ on Bach’s classic: ‘Toccata
and Fugue in D minor’ on
her violin. It was hard not to observe that there was an
interesting chemistry on stage that was felt as the show
progressed, and one got the feeling that all Minstrels were,
somehow, being tested by Ritchie, who would ‘ask’ only for the
best performance... and that was exactly what he got from all
Minstrels. The band’s classics: ‘World
of Stone,’ ‘Home Again’, ‘The Clock Ticks on’ and:
‘Home again’ -where
people can dance- are always a pleasure to listen and see live.
Candice breaths an air of warmth that makes you think that the
show is no longer a place filled with two thousand people, but a
private show where everyone is welcome. Ritchie’s teasing of
Candice on stage was always there, and that showed another side
of the Man in Black...a man with a fine sense of humour. When an
overjoyed mature fan in front of the stage offered to Ritchie a
guitar pick... Ritchie showed back to him his own guitar pick,
making everyone smile. Furthermore, one of the top highlights
came right at the end of the show when Ritchie returned to his
Deep Purple days and performed ‘Black Night’... his two minutes
extended solo was out of this world. Most people came right in
front of the stage, again, and participated with everything they
had.The improvisation and solo proved again why he is at the top
of the rock scene, or even better the reason why he is...
Ritchie Blackmore. The security did have a tough night that
night with all that enthusiasm around. At some point at the end
of the show, Ritchie offered the fans in front of him the
opportunity to touch the strings of his legendary Stratocaster
and ‘play’ while concluding the song. It is true that when the
audience is pulling with the band, the band feeds off it, and
that night, in plain English, people did get mental, so the band
rocked the place.
The show ended after two and a
half hours with Deep Puprle classics, while the rain kept
coming and leaving us, but the audience was in such a great mood
that we did not feel it anymore...What was left, was a great
show with no pretence, lots of positive feelings and sweat for
the audience, and another night in Germany and its Medieval
castles with Blackmore’s Night to cherish and remember for ever.
Blackmore's Night Tracklist 10.9.2010
Munchen - Prinzregenten Theater, Germany.
In beautiful Munich, I had the
fortune to meet the Great Ritchie Blackmore for the second time, and
of course to be on a Blackmore’s Night concert on 10.09.2010.The
weather at the day of the concert and during my stay in Munich was
brilliant. The concert took place in Prinzregenten Theater, a
beautiful neo classical building that brought in mind a medieval
place. A fact, that is quite typical for the venues BN choose to
play their music.
Dressed in garb, joyful, and with great anxiety, we, the fans filled
with anticipation were waiting to watch the show. As I was sitting
on the front row among people I knew from other fan clubs, we
admired the impressively decorated stage.
A few hours before, R.Blackmore had appeared backstage, where a lot
of fans had been waiting for him. Ritchie was very friendly
The concert started off with the beautiful melodies of Albert
Dannenman who used various medieval wind instruments as well as a
Hurdy Gurdy.
BN started off with their rhythmic ‘Locked within the Crystal Ball’,
getting the audience on its feet who enjoyed every note. The song
list included both old and new songs from the new ‘Autumn sky’
album. Songs like ‘Highland’, ‘Believe in me’, ‘All the fun in the
fayre’ were the most pleasant memories of the night.
The troubadours gave a great performance. Candice and Ritchie
enjoyed the audience’s love and enjoyed playing all this music that
that they had created all these years. Seeing Ritchie on his knees
playing for his audience it is easy to realize that he is dedicated
and closer to his audience, more than any other time before. In the
end everyone was pleased, renewing their next meeting (friends) for
the next concert.

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT - THE SECRET VOYAGE
Fairytales, castles, legends and stories coming from afar..
Haunting,enchanting melodies
compose the new studio album from Blackmore's Night called the
'Secret Voyage'. And it is indeed a journey
trough time since every melody takes you far away, in a secret place where
dreams and reality meet.. After the beautiful intro of 'God Save the
Keg', the atmosphere gets darker for ' Locked within the crystal
ball ' where we meet the admirable genius of Ritchie Blackmore and
the enchantment of the exquisite Candice Night, who sings of crystal
balls, ships and tempest..Then the atmosphere gets
serene with the peaceful 'Gilded Cage' , a truly beautiful ballad,
surrounded by remarkable acoustic patterns, followed by 'Toast of
Tomorrow' which reminds us of joyful feasts with friends, and the
wonderful 'Prince Waldeck's Galliard', a medieval, captivating,
instrumental piece. As the journey continues, the well-known Rainbow
song 'Rainbow Eyes' proves that Ritchie Blackmore can transform his
songs
in any way, and still keep the flame and the magic alive. The Circle,
Sister Gypsy and the Peasant's Promise are stirring pieces, where
beautiful traditional instruments create a nostalgic feeling.
Splendid electric guitars and excellent vocals on Elvis Presley's '
Can't help falling in love', the fairytale feeling of Far Far Away,
and the epilogue of Empty Words bring the journey to the end, but
the melodies still stay with you, and make you want to come back to
this music again and again.. A journey in fantasy, to the past, and
back again..

hello... this is my review and photos from Blackmore's Night Concert
in Zagreb 27Jan
View my pics
In rainy Zagreb on the 27th
of January 2009 Blackmore’s Night started their European Tour for
2009 and we did all we could do to be a part of another
concert-delight as we covered
more than 2000km to meet them. Zagreb is a very beautiful town of
traditional architecture which reminds medieval times (Renaissance).
Rain was a small drawback
as we could not enjoy the town as much as we would like to.
Lisinski Concert Hall is a big modern building where all kinds of
concerts take place and it was appropriate for Blackmore’s concert
as well.
In the venue we got to know the driver of the band and we had the
chance to talk about our favourite topic, Blackmore’s Night….
The stage effects took a long to be set up because Croatian people
for some unknown reason did not allow the staff to do their job
properly…
Fortunately, it all went fine and the concert was held without any
unexpected incidents.
Doors opened at 20:00 and till 18:30 there was no one around. Around
19:00 the first medieval figures dressed in nice costumes began to
show up and so the feeling was reminding a lot of Blackmore’s
Night.. Queens, Kings, Witches, Elves, Knights were all there. When
I put on
my medieval costume, I feel something special. It is like going back
in time and living some moments of that era….
We saw the concert sitting on the second row together with the other
medieval-dressed people as we were in the Guest List made by Carole
Stevens (manager BN). We thank her so much for her amazing help.
The set of the concert was just amazing and fabulous with the Secret
Voyage as background, the nets, Blackmore’s guitars and the very
beautifully decorated piano of Bard David.
The concert started ideally with Locked within the Crystal Ball and
they followed the rest of the magical songs as you can see on the
play list.
In most concerts people usually sit and they stand up at the end of
the show. On the contrary, we rushed ahead while they were playing
Home Again and we stayed there until the end. People from Zagreb
seemed to know well the band and there were a lot who were dressed
in
medieval costumes and not in irrelevant T-shirts or even Deep Purple
T-shirts. I hope we will make a good impression here in Greece if
they ever come.
For those who have never been to a Blackmore’s Night concert, I
would recommend it without a second thought. It is a great
pleasure-concert,
something different which is worth seeing and listening to.
I have never seen Ritchie so in the mood. He changes songs in his
own way and his makes them sound magical and so were the solos he
was playing.
Candice, very beautiful as usual, was singing great and she was
joking with the audience. It was a magical night, very typical of
Blackmore’s Night.
The band was refreshed and it had two new members:
Gypsy Rose - Violin and Earl Grey Of Chamay - Bass who both gave
their best.. This was the first concert after their wedding as
Candice told us showing her wedding ring.
After the end of the concert with the help of my friend Richard
Michels (Personal Security BN) and Carole Stevens, we managed to
meet Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore,
and so one of my dreams come true. They were sitting on the couch
and they welcomed us in a good mood. I have heard a lot about
Ritchie, that he is a bit strange etc.
I haven’t noticed anything like that; on the contrary, he was very
friendly and simple. Candice Night was so cute, beautiful and
pleasant that it is impossible for anyone not to like her.
They were very surprised when my uncle (Boris) told them that he had
met Ritchie outside his house in the USA in 1999. They promised to
come to Greece.
I hope it will be soon…
*** This time I tasted the beer that Ritchie gave me ***
*** In the end, I decided not to take away from Ritchie his Fender
Stratocaster that’s why I didn’t take it. ☺***

Dear Ritchie and Candice!
My name is Simon, I'm 21
years old and live in a town in the north of Sweden.
I really love your music, it always makes me so happy like no other
music can.
I would love it if you would come to Sweden sometime within the
year. (I can't wait any longer).
It would be one of the highlights of my life. Thank you for all
you've done so far and stay medieval!

Concert Review
46 years old
I have been following Blackmore´s career since I was a kid and I
trawled from Sweden to Milano to see the concert. It was one of the
finest concerts I have seen. Sometimes I was laughing of joyfulness
and also my eyes filled with tears because I was really touch by the
beauty. I can also tell you that I went to la Scala to see Tristan
und Isolde and I enjoyed Blackmore´s Night more
and I would never change that experience. If I was to choose I would
never hesitate to go for Blackmore´s Night instead of la Scala.
Sincerely yours
Jan from Sweden
Review of concert in Zagreb 2009
It was their first concert of the
year 2009; first concert in Croatia; first concert as a married
couple (Richie & Candice)...
It was a rainy day in Zagreb and despite poor advertising activities
concert attended about 1300 souls or better to say a big one since
all hearts have been beating as one on that magical voyage which
lasted for almost 3 hours (!) and ended just around midnight
although it seemed it would last till dawn since song after song
went better and better...
Rain stopped and Moon over Zagreb went Violet. Zagreb got something
rare, unforgettable and now lives and hopes for new coming of
Blackmore's (K)Night(s) & Queen(s).

Blackmore's Night Concert
Hello there!
My name is Igor and I liv e in Zagreb, Zeleni trg 3, Croatia. Yes,
that was my first BN concert on 27th of January and in my
hometown!!! It was wonderful! Me and my two friends dressed in
medieval clothes and had a wonderful and magical time. So did
everyone around us and I dare to say the whole concert hall. The
length of the concert tells me that Ritchie and Candice and the band
prettty much enjoyed themselves as well. Thank you very, very much
for the music and the magic!
A few days ago I contacted Dario Rakovac to join the first Croatian
Official Blackmore's Night Fan Club and we exchanged thoughts and
opinions, him being far more experienced in that matter than me. I
hope it develops further.
I've been listening to BN music for 8 years now and have all their
CDs and DVDs. Although I'm 50 and not easily overwhelmed their
(your!) music is so fresh (although rennaisance style), romantic and
magical that it always takes me somewhere and someplace else and
makes me feel…well, let's not describe it with words! I've been
introducing BN music to all my relatives and friends ever since and
am still enjoying to do so.
It was not my intention to get to fan comments or concert comments
pages, but if you feel like doing so I have no objections.
Finally, I sincerely hope that we shall see and hear Blackmore's
Night in Croatia again and my wish (and hopefully the goal of Fan
Club) would be that it takes place in spring or summer on one of our
medieval locations (we have some beautiful castles and several
festivals)!
Once again, thank you for the voyage through the fires under
lanternes and a violet moon!
Igor
This is my third time going to Germany to see you all
and it would be a dream come true to be at a fan show if there is
one, and room for us!
There is something even more magical when they play and sing in
Germany. It is such a pleasure to see you all perform.
I have never seen a band so many times as Blackmore's Night. The
two upcoming shows will be #35 and #36 for me - not bad for
someone in the USA.
The shows truly take you on a journey and make you feel good -
forgetting any problems you may have for the moment.
Candice brings such warmth to the shows - makes everyone feel
special. Her voice is so soothing and she can last for hours.
Candice and Ritchie complement each other extremely well. I
could go on and on ....

A simple letter, written fast but anyway full of my love for you
all!!!
Hello Blackmore's Night,
I'm Giovanni (19 years old) and I'm from Turin, a city in the
north-west of Italy.
My english is not so good and I'm sorry for this. Anyway yesterday
evening, Friday 06th of February 2009, I was in the Palabrescia
living one of the most sensational,
incredible, fabulous and exciting concert of all my life! You made
me go crazy! The title tracks was so balanced between the
medieval folk style, proper of Blackmore's Night,
and the rock spirit of the sensational Ritchie Blackmore. I enjoyed
every single note, chord and improvvisation of the concert. You made
me laugh till the death whith the
telephone joke and those simple words:"My Mama..." I really
appreciated the drums and keyboard solos of the concert, I
couldn't hold myself from dancing and moving hands trying
to follow the rythm. But I remain a simple guitar player who
has grown dreaming to be able, in a even far future, to be like you
Sir Ritchie Blackmore.
I've started playing this wonderfull musical instrument after I
heard your riffs in Deep Purple in Rock and Made in Japan. From
those old vynils,
bought by my father, I started to reach as much info I could on you
till a day I found in a CDshop a Blackmore's Night CD and I bought
it without thinking a second time.
Yesterday I was under the stage, in front of the really cool and
nice bass player, and when I saw you so near to me I could not
believe to my eyes, especially when you came back from the backstage
with your Fender Stratocaster Ritchie Blackmore's Signature, that
was the top.
On that scalloped fretboard you made one of the most incredible solo
I've ever heard, in that was concentrated all your immagination,
creativity and emotions. I don't know what I would give to meet you
all out of a theater, I can't hide I'm a fanatic of Ricthie
Blackmore and the band
(I've not counted how many times I watched the Paris Moon DVD).
A special thanks to Candice Night and the pretty violinist, who were
able to surround all the fans with the melody of their voice and
improvvisations on the instrument.
I think that, even if you haven't done songs like Black Night and
Smoke on the Water (like you did the 27th of April 2008 in Mantova),
the concert was really complete of all the most emotional tracks you
could offer to us. Songs like O Fortuna, from the Carmina Burana,
and the 9th Symphony of Beethoven will remain
forever in my heart! Please next year come again in Italy and if
you'll come for a concert in my city, Turin, I will be really really
happy and honored to show
you the story of the city and all the most attended pub also. You
are and you will always be the best!
I don't know what else to write even if my head is exploding because
I would like to say so many things that I've not enough time to
write them all
or this will become a romance, not an e-mail anymore. Feel
free to judge this mail good enough to be posted on your website,
the most important thing for me is knowing that my
favourite band and guitar player knows what I think of them, hoping
to meet you again in the everyday life. You have my mail and I will
be really happy to receive mails from you,
I will keep on writing to let you know what I think.
With love,
Giovanni from Turin
P.S.: Congratulation Mr. and Mrs. Blackmore for your wedding, I wish
you the best you can have from the life!!!

Review: Charlotte NC, 25th October
Charlotte exploded with a very enthusiastic crowd from the Charlotte
area as well a many guests from all over the US. StreetTeam was out
in force -- but the crowd was ready anyway. Setlist is similar to
the others, just got a surprise of Loreley - which I do not believe
has
been played in the states before. (It is frequently played in
Europe)
There was much talking between songs. It lasted probably 5 minutes
between the first two songs. Thomas and Albert opened up a again -
Great as usual.
Ariel was on fire.... and speaking of
fire, Lady Melissa from CT got
to introduce Fires At Midight! Great time meeting all of you pre and

today. The sound is so soothing that my goose bumps never subside.
Today, the music is the best I have heard is a long time. I never
listen to pop American music and continue to wonder were all have
all the great musicians gone but am glad to say the musicians of old

satellite radio. Man, I just cannot tell you the emotions I have
watching your videos.......I FRIKKEN LOVE THEM ALL. I just can't get
enough of it. Soon, I will be ordered to Germany to work for four
years and cannot wait to explorer all of Europe. All of Europe is

Hi... My name is Tim and
I'm from Hale Street in Staten Island New York. I'm 46 years of age
and I love Blackmore's night. I've always been a fan of the actual
group Renaissance with Annie Haslam and when I heard that Ritchie
was putting together a group of Renaissance music I must admit I was
a bit skeptical. Upon hearing the first album I was instantly
intrigued and convinced.
Candice Night's voice is incredible and soothing. Her place in the
music of Blackmore's night is surely affirmed with every melodic
twist and turn. Her personality and stage presence are perfect for
her role as a maiden of the renaissance period, not to mention her
goddess-like appearance.
The mixture of renaissance and rock guitar playing of Ritchie
Blackmore is what makes this group what it is. It has been argued at
some renaissance faire's that the entertainment value should not be
stressed to the point of overshadowing the importance of the
authenticity of the time and it's traditions. In this musical
setting, entertainment is exactly what is expected, and it's value
and importance in bringing a Sixteenth century musical culture to
the attention of a rock music crowd (who would otherwise have never
bothered with the actual music of the time) cannot be overlooked.
With traditional songs as the background for the music, Ritchie's
playing is surprisingly fresh and unique from his previous work with
Deep Purple and Rainbow. The choice of songs and arrangements are
always enjoyable and have the ability to bring you back to a time
when perhaps Robin Hood himself may have longed for some company by
the fire on those moonlit nights away from his castle.
The choice of album covers are indeed an important element essential
to the idea and internal images of the music. How many images on
album covers are often ambiguous or open to more then one
interpretation by the listener? How often are album covers some sort
of inside joke known only to the band? With Blackmore's night, the
covers speak directly to the time on which they are based.
I will continue to listen and buy their albums as long as they put
them out. So now.. if you will please excuse me while I mount my
trusty steed and roam the country side in search of a maiden with
long hair and a big chest, who just happens to live in a castle and
walks by the window with a torch and takes off her... Well, you get
the picture.
Yours Truly Tim PS. you have permission to print my comment in the
fan section.

(Excuse me if my english is worste but i'm only 16 years old and my

Bye
(My love Sara say "Candice you're woderfull!")
Thanks for being around still ....
I was 14 years old when I
acquired, for 10 Philippine Pesos, a scratched-up vinyl of Machine
Head. My mother said it sounded like popcorn cooking in a kettle but
to me, that record was music heaven each time I played it. On an
on-and-off basis I followed Ritchie Blackmore's career; I remember
buying a cassette of "Straight Between the Eyes" which instantly
rekindled my enthusiasm for anything with a hint of Ritchie
Blackmore's musical artistry. Now I am 42 years old and I still
listen to Deep Purple; I am also very glad to discover that Ritchie
is still weaving his magic with a great band, Blackmore's Night (not
to mention having the most gorgeous female lead singer in the person
of Ms. Candice Night).
Take care of yourself and be healthy, Mr. Blackmore. Live long and
strong, for you have another generation of humans to enchant with
your music.
DEL GESLANI
Would like to know when you will be returning to the states,
specifically California.
I must admit after seeing you
perform in Irvine CA with your former bandmates I kind of lost
track. I live in Central California (Tehachapi), it would be great
to see you at the Fox Theater in Bakersfield if/when you get out
this way. I've played guitar for almost 46 years now (I'm 52), and
you were one of my earliest and biggest influences. Would love to
see you again. Please keep me posted?
Warmest regards, George <CHEERS!>

seemed to know well the band and there were a lot who were dressed
in
medieval costumes and not in irrelevant T-shirts or even Deep Purple
T-shirts. I hope we will make a good impression here in Greece if
they
ever come.
For those who have never been to a Blackmore’s Night concert, I
would
recommend it without a second thought. It is a great
pleasure-concert,
something different which is worth seeing and listening to.
I have never seen Ritchie so in the mood. He changes songs in his
own
way and his makes them sound magical and so were the solos he was
playing. Candice, very beautiful as usual, was singing great and she
was joking with the audience. It was a magical night, very typical
of
Blackmore’s Night. The band was refreshed and it had two new
members:
Gypsy Rose - Violin and Earl Grey Of Chamay - Bass who both gave
their
best.. This was the first concert after their wedding as Candice
told
us showing her wedding ring.
After the end of the concert with the help of my friend Richard
Michels (Personal Security BN) and Carole Stevens, we managed to
meet
Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore, and so one of my dreams come
true. They were sitting on the couch and they welcomed us in a good
mood. I have heard a lot about Ritchie, that he is a bit strange
etc.
I haven’t noticed anything like that; on the contrary, he was very
friendly and simple. Candice Night was so cute, beautiful and
pleasant
that it is impossible for anyone not to like her. They were very
surprised when my uncle (Boris) told them that he had met Ritchie
outside his house in the USA in 1999. They promised to
come to Greece. I hope it will be soon…
*** This time I tasted the beer that Ritchie gave me ***
*** In the end, I decided not to take away from Ritchie his Fender
Stratocaster that’s why I didn’t take it. ☺***

The 12 February 2009 I saw your wonderful concert in Bratislava.
I love all the works and
career of Ritchie – Deep Purple, Rainbow and now Blackmore’s Night.
For me and more than 1000 people in the PKO it was really a great
emotion!
More than 2 hours of music, good feelings, and magic atmosphere
(Fires at midnight was fantastic).
Thank you very much, I hope – We hope – to see you again in
Bratislava.
Your sincerely

I read
this wonderful book a couple of weeks ago and the stories from this
book still pop into my mind.
It is a
must read, not only for Blackmore’s Night fans and not only for
anyone who has ever been on the road or in a band but for anyone who
deals with people on a daily basis (this would be most of us,
wouldn’t it).
First of all, it is such a well-written book. The reader is able to
follow the character’s thought process even while the character is
saying something else. You know “you think one thing – say
another”. It is very easy to follow the story line. It is an easy
read.
Second, I promise you will laugh out-loud. Heed the warning, you
may want to read in private or else people may start giving you
strange looks as they notice you laughing at the book.
The book has no
boring sections. You won’t want to put it down until you are
finished. This is a book that will have you wishing the 2nd
edition was already in print. The stories and characters come to
life and you find yourself rooting for them, laughing with them
(O.K., sometimes at them) and applauding the outcomes. You have a
sense that you know these people. Although all have been given
fictitious names, the stories are stated to be true and after your
introduction to each of these characters, you can believe that the
stories are true!
This makes a great gift for the Holidays, Birthdays, or just to
cheer someone up. Buy your copy today and I promise you will enjoy!
In keeping with the gist of the book, I shall sign off,
Mark Sour

Some of the best music I have ever heard, don't come across much music
anymore that has real talent. Did not know much about Richie Blackmore
a genious when it comes to music, Candice Nights voice is very strong
and clear just wanted to let you know that your music has touched
someone here in America. Think Candice may be best singer around suprised
she is not better known in US.
G&M from England - July 2006
My lords and ladies of Blackmores night - hello!
Wow, what a wonderful week it has been at our house
- thanks to your superb
music and the 'dreadful' article in Classic Rock magazine. My wife
and I
have always loved folk/celtic/rock music but there's just not enough
of it
about! Inbetween listening to Jethro Tull and Loreena Mckennitt
we have
always longed for a sound that merges the contemporary with the
past in an
exciting, emotional and heartfelt way.
We didn't even know about your band until several
days ago I read the
article in Classic Rock and thought ' well, the reviewer may not
appreicate
that music but it sounds just up our street! (or down our cobbled
lane!) and
I thought the whole concept about Blackmore's Night was worth investigating.
So, that day I ordered the Fires at Midnight CD and when it arrived
we
were not disappointed! We heard the type of music that we have longed
to
hear for many years!
The next day we ordered several of your CD's and
the concert DVD and it has
been a thrill to lose ourselves in your timeless songs! Ritchie
is the most
amazing guitar player and Candice's voice is angelic! It's the best
music
we've ever heard - full of energy, fun and spirit, with amazing
depth. And
you obviously really enjoy playing it!
Headed over to this site and see your playing Germany
this year. Well,
we've never been to Germany but we are going this August! We booked
our
rooms in Rothenburg and are at the moment trying to sort out our
flights!
We are very excited to not only be going to see you guys but also
going to
visit what looks like an amazing place.
So, thank you for your music! It's going to be a
great year!
Just hope you guys are planning to stay together
for many years ahead as we
seem to have found you quite awhile down the path...
Fayre thee well,
G&M from England
You
may of course use this on your website, as we would like to publicly
herald our support for such worthy minstrels!
Agustin from Madrid,
Spain - July 2006
Hi Candice and Ritchie,
My name is Agustin, I
am 52 and live in Madrid, Spain.
I am absolutely in love
with your music, I have all your albums and also the DVD Castles
and Dreams, which I enjoy so much watching.
My job makes me go to
Frankfurt from time to time, but I am not sure whether I'll have
to go at the end of July, which will be so convenient so that I
could go to one of the places where you are touring in Germany.
I would be so happy to have the chance to go! It would be so wonderful
if you came to Spain for a tour as well, but that's something I
don't dare even to hope.
Candice has such a sweet
voice that I wonder whether it was merely luck that Ritchie found
her or it was something that destiny had prepared so that all those
who love music can say ' I was so lucky as to share my life with
the nicest band of all times'.
My best wishes for you
all,
Agustin.
Anthony (Tony Dio)
from Canada - June 2006
Hello,
my name is Anthony (Or Tony Dio as everyone calls me) I live in
Canada and I had to write to tell how much I loved Blackmore's Night.
I've
never heard anything like this before and I'm SO glad I found out
about this
kind of music. I've always been a Rainbow fan (though I was only
alive for
their last album "Stranger in us All", and even then I
was only six (and at
that age, I could have cared less about music). I've always loved
fantasy
and write a lot about it (currently I'm trying to write a book)
so it was no
surprise that I loved Blackmore's night ever since I heard "Fires
at
Midnight" (the first song I heard). Candice Night has the most
beautiful
voice I have ever heard-combined with Ritchie Blackmore (my favorite
guitarist), and Fantasy, has pushed Black Sabbath out of the way
to make
Blackmore's Night my favorite band ever. Keep up the good work,
I hope you
come to Ottawa (Canada) someday.
Shine On
Tony Dio
ps; I would love to see this on the website, I'd be more than honoured
if it
ended up in "Fan Comments".
Paul Weaver
from The United Kingdom - June 2006
Thank you to Paul Weaver (Head of UK
Street Team)
for sending the following into blackmoresnight.com....................
By the way I've had a
listen to the Blackmore's Night CD and I have to say
this is one of the best albums he's made in years. Certainly a lot
of folk
influence in the music, plus the occasional hint of Rainbow. 'Street
of
Dreams' sounds a lot heavier than the original 1983 version Richie
made
with Rainbow but an excellent version nevertheless.
Full marks for the wonderful
album cover showing what appears to be an
Austrian village scene, brings back some memories of some of the
holidays
I've had there. All I can say is the legend lives on.

Hi Paul
I just thought that I'd
drop you a line to say that I had not forgotten
about your request to report back on the CD that you kindly gave
me
recently. I was a little suspect about the name - and the fact that
you
described it as folk rock. In the 60s I was more leaning to the
Beatles
than the Stones.
However, I was very pleasantly
surprised. It accompanied me in the car on
two moderately lengthy journeys and was played several times. That
in
itself is praise since I can get bored with repeating music. As
someone
who was a regular attender of pub based folk-nights and ceilidhs
from
about 1970 I was impressed with the range of music contained on
this disc.
I found myself being transported away from the UK at times and at
others
to different periods of time. I was quite convinced that I was entering
the renaissance at one point.
The songs included stuff
that I had never heard and a couple of old
favourites dressed in interesting new clothes - McColls' 'Streets
of
London' comes to mind especially. The music was well executed and
a
delight to hear and the singer was first class. I wish this group
well.
John Orchard - 15th May

Hi Paul
Many thanks for giving
me a copy of their latest CD – it’s fab. I have
played it over and over many times and I finally decided which are
my
favourite tracks.
My first impressions
were that all the tracks were excellent. The female
vocalist has a lovely voice and Ritchie’s guitar-playing is
excellent of
course.
I can’t decide
which is my absolute favourite track (toss up between
tracks 3, 11 and 14).
Anyway, I have rated
the tracks from 4 stars (most favourite) to 1 star
(least favourite).
Have you ever met the
gorgeous Ritchie Blackmore?
Next time you see him
can you get me his autograph please????

Dear
Ritchie and candice,
We managed to get your latest c.d from HMV ,before it went on display.
(VILLAGE LANTERN) WOUNDERFUL,TOUCHING AND EMOTIONAL,GOING BACK TO

comes back to to the minstrel music, (rainbow/deep purple) great.
The cd has a mixture of the rock, then handled in the Minstrel way.
Keep well and Happy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
P.S Have you given his underwear back yet (why not) hee hee.
Lord Robert must be realy needing it now ! love Jim and Diane.++
Alexander from St Petersburg Russia - April 2006
Good evening, Dear Mr. Ritchie Blackmore, Ms. Candice Night and
Blackmore's Night"!
This letter is directed to Mr. Ritchie Blackmore.
I am too far from great command of English, so I'm sorry if there
any mistakes.
My name is Alexander, and I'm writing to You from St.-Petersburg,
Russia.
Several years ago I could not even dream of writing to you, and,
especially, to have an opportunity to receive the answer - and now
I'm glad to do it owing to the guest book on your fine site.
You know, I feel very
timid and can't find right words when appealing to You, Mr. Ritchie
Blackmore.
I'm 18 years old, and I've been playing guitar since I was 10.
I have chosen Fender Stratocaster just because you play on this
electric guitar.
Well, I hadn't even thought about imitating Your style like it was
done by thousands of guitarists. Every One of us has his own course
of life. It is your way which greatness I admire, but I should search
my own...
In 60-90s there were many "star competitors" for You,
and today there are many guitar heroes on covers of guitar magazines
and on TV.
But+
When I have heard You
playing guitar for the first time (it was 3 years ago), I was amazed!
- and till now I am under huge impression, naturally! You have inspired
me and Your magnificent songs made me spend days and nights without
a break just playing guitar and trying to become a good guitarist!
Without you, I would never understand, what the guitar and the music
actually are!
- I only want to say
that I'm deeply touched by Your songs and You will always remain
my favourite Guitarist - The One Who made me believe in the Power
of Music.
Thank You very much for it!! Your music is magnificent, and Your
talent and feeling of a melody are absolutely amazing!!! I'd like
to avoid using pompous phrases, but I'd like to tell You - no one
among my teachers hadn't learnt me how to play guitars as good as
You! I've learned so many f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c things just listening
and playing your songs, melodies and solos.
Today it is fashionable to make some kind of cult from playing guitar
and to play incredibly fast so as to show yourself as a so-called
Virtuoso. Guitarists forget that they are Musicians first of all.
But You - a guitarist with brilliant picking technique - always
try to make pleasant melody. That's why, from my point of view,
every Your song turns out to be a Masterpiece!
Today is a very special
day+ Guess You know what I speak about April 14
I'm happy to congratulate You with Your Birth Day! I wish You a
long, happy and healthy life!
Let the Sun and the Moon lead You on Your Minstrel's Way ! And let
the Music sound!
I am very happy with
that fact that I've already bought a ticket for Your future concert
in Saint-Petersburg GCH Octyabrsky".
Well, I've never visited Your concerts so I'm looking forward to
it with my heart sinking.
Thank You!
Well, I' m supposed to give a permission for You to post it all
on Your fabulous web-site.
You may post my letter at the Fan Comments" section if You
would like to.
It's clear that such Great Musician, Guitarist and Composer as Mr.
Ritchie Blackmore is very-very busy personality
Thank You very-very-very much for Your Music!

Just read makowskis review in classic
rock, i was at the same gig and as an ex music journalist am able
to say that for once in my life i disagree totally with his comments.
I was never a Purple fan, but quite liked rainbow rising, much prefer
Blackmores night. Dragged my husband along a rock drummer who despite
his initial reservations actually really enjoyed the show. claire.

Hello
Mister Blackmore and /Lady/ Night,
First: this is a message for Candice: My Daughter, Clara, wants
to know
if if Sisters of the Moon are your sisters Too !? She is sure yes!
Second: from me (age 39): Always the same question, Are you going
to
come in France for a show one of this days or never ? Can We hope
this
again? Last I saw you was in 1995 (with Rainbow!), more than ten
years...Well every year we're sad to see you come back to your home
without just a little travel in France...
See you soon...?
Response:
Yes, We hope to perform in Paris in September.
Alisa from England - March 2006
Having
read the recent article in Classic Rock I feel sufficiently incensed
to comment. .... The article is comprised from old quotes made by
Ritchie where emphasis is placed on Ritchie's over the top antics
on stage and his tendency to destroy his strats when he was in Purple
and Rainbow. The author then says he attended the Blackmore's Night
concert at Aylesbury Town Hall but he only lasted three songs. Based
on three songs be belives Ritchie to be "lost".
How can you write an unbiased article based on three songs? I was
and still am a huge fan of Purple and Rainbow but times and people
move on. I openly admit I only tried Blackmore's Night because of
Ritchie, and it took more than one watching of the Castles &
Dreams DVD to appreciate this new form of music (new to me anyway).
I feel sorry for people like the author who cannot or will not try
to broaden their musical tastes because how can you if you are not
prepared to give something a go (and to me listening to three songs
is not really trying). Further he makes fun of the members of the
audience who dressed up (I suppose somehow it must socially acceptable
for people to attend AC/DC concerts dressed in school uniform but
not to dress in medieval costume).
This type of journalism is negative and does the author no favours
- he comes across as having wrote this article out of sheer spite
because he has been denied access to Ritchie for an interview since
2001.
I saw Blackmore's Night in Newcastle, England, in October 2005.
And its true, this is not Purple or Rainbow and there is no madman
Ritchie running around the stage like a lunatic, and for that I
am pleased. The music of Blackmore's Night is different to that
of Ritchie's past career and if you go to a Blackmore's Night concert
expecting the Ritchie of the past then you are going to be sorely
disappointed. If you go with an open mind then I am sure that most
people would be very pleasantly surprised at what they find.
I hope to see Blackmore's Night in England again - please don't
be put off by this type of article because it is meaningless rubbish.
One more thing - when I've had a grotty day at work its not Purple
or Rainbow I reach for at the end of the day to make me relax, its
Blackmore's Night. 20 minutes is all it takes to get rid of the
stress of the day and I find myself a much happier and uplifted
person after listening to this music.
Best wishes to all at Blackmore's Night
Nicolas from France - March 2006
Hello.
Excuse me for my english ..
I play guitar thanks to my father who is a fan of Deep Purple, Rainbow
and now Blackmore's night. That's why I'would like to know if it's
possible to show you in France. I think we have a lot of beautiful
castles and villages for your concerts. Carcassonne, or Monestie
( "Pause Guitare". It's a little Festival in a beautiful
village, near Toulouse) can be interesting places. And I wonder
if you want to play Rainbow eyes. I' m sure that you can do a beautiful
version with Blackmore's night.
Thanks for your work. Perhaps I will see you in France

hope to perform in Paris on Sept 20 Please watch our site for more

Today I picked up the copy of this that I ordered from the music
store. Having more beers than I should have on a weak night I realized
I could not turn it off till the last encore was over. "Awesome"
barely credits this DVD justly. Like many I'm a fan of Ritchie's
from another time who discovered that his mastery of music combined
with the beautiful voice of Candice and the skill of the other minstrels
create magical songs that become as engrained as any from the past.
Thank you all for creating this. I look forward to seeing it live.

Thank you so very much from a 57 year old I've long wanted to revisit

musical images. Bless you and stay forever in contact with the inner

Just writing
to say how much I love the music of Blackmore's Night! I love it
so much in fact I bought numerous cds at my local renaissance faire,
and my fiance and I are playing a bunch of blackmore's night songs
before our wedding starts, and for the two songs we play as my bridesmaids
and I are walking down the isle are "Once In a Million Years"
for the bridesmaids and "Waiting Just For You" for the
song I walk down the isle too. The music is just so wonderful that
I cannot think of having a medieval themed wedding and not playing
Blackmore's Night music. I will send a picture after the wedding
takes place. Cheers!
Serra from MI - February 2006
have got to be one of your biggest
fans! I love your music so much! I live in a small town so its hard
to find your Cds anywhere! I've been lucky to find four of your
Cds. under a violet moon, Ghost of a rose, Shadow of the moon and
Fires at Midnight (I just got it earlier today and I've listened
to it repeatedly ever since.). But I'm trying to get them all. So
far I've memorized every single one of your songs (the ones with
words anyway ^__^ ) and my little cousin and I sing them together
all the time for our grandmother, she really likes it.
The
words you use and the way you write your songs are so magical and
Soothing. I love just sitting there listening for hours while I
draw. I especially love Avalon. I can so see the scene where they're
sitting there watching fireflies as they hold each others hand.
I'm going to draw you a picture of that scene one day. and when
I do, I'll send it to you.
I'm
also working on finding concert tickets. I would be in HEAVEN if
saw one of your concerts. and of course I'd have to drag my friend
and lil cousin with me, they love you too.
This
would go in fan comments wouldnt it? You have permission to do what
you want with it. But I seriously LOVE you guys. Candice you're
so beautiful and you have the voice of an angel! PLEASE keep singing
and being yourselves!! I LOVE YOU!! <3 <3 <3
Cindy from Spring Valley California - February 2006
When
is Blackmores Night coming back to San Diego Ca? My hubby and I
really want you guys to come back!!!!!
Please?????????!!!:)
Melissa from Heidelberg - February 2006
Dear greatest band of the world!
I am a 19-year-old
fan from Heidelberg in Germany who is totally impressed,
surrounded and magically touched by your enchanting music. I think
there are
only few songs I do not know by heart. I just feel so connected
to every
single word, every single melody, every single message sent in each
song.
And so many songs remind me of something in my life. My first album
was the
live-album "past time with good company" and especially
the songs "home
again", "renessaince fair", "fires at midnight"
and, most important for me,
"still remember" remind me and touch me very much because
of this book
series from Diana Gabaldon, I don't know, if you are familiar but
it really
sounds somehow as if those songs were written for the books. Or
the books
were written while listening to your music ;-)?
Well, I could
spent hours with saying positive things about you. I really
hope that I will see you in concert sometime because it would make
me so so
so happy. By the way: Heidelberg has a very famous and beautiful
castle,
too!! But what I wanted to ask you after all is what the meaning
of
"Malageña" is. I've searched all over on google
and haven't really found
something, except in Spanish and my Spanish is not that good yet.
I should come
to an end, I guess you have tons of E-Mails a day and I don't
want to waste your time! I really really love your music and hope
you'll
never stop being as you are!
Greetings from
romantic Heidelberg and best wishes and regards,

I
began listening to Ritchie with Deep Purple In Rock. I had 32 speakers
in my bedroom in 1969 and after school we would get buzzed and sit
down and listen to Child In Time....classic hard driving rock....the
kinda stuff kids could only dream of today. I knew Ritchie was no
longer with them(forever, I know) and I REALLY did not know his
music of late. I stumbled on his website and listened. I KNOW GOOD
MUSIC ! I listened to Shadow of the Moon live and was quite impressed.
I just bought the collection on your website. And probably will
buy more. Very nice..and new to me..Can I ever expect to see them
in person..Fort Lauderdale's my home... Keep on Keepin' on...Peace
Mineko from Osaka, Japan - January 2006
I
send a fan email for the first time.
I went to a concert of
the Blackmore's Night and, in Osaka Sankei hall, have become a fan
more and more in the last few years.
I feel positive when I hear a singing voice of Candice, a guitar
play of Richie when I feel negative- this is like having taken magic.

Ritchie,
Candice, and the Minstrels,
Thank you so much for a wonderful DVD concert. Very well done. Adding
Des Geyers for the two songs at the end was a such a pleasure to
see and hear - real goose bump time!
I love the DVD and am giving several as gifts this Christmas. I
haven't been this excited about a musical group since...........I
can't remember!
Best wishes for the holidays to you, Ritchie, Candice, and the Minstrels.

Congratulations for the show you
gave in Paris (20th september) , it was just fantastic.... candice
sang with her heart, ritchie is still the greatest guitar player
in the whole world, the sisters of the moon were completely in "Child
in time..." ... all the members were good
Like we say you'll never have a second chance to make a first impression
... and for me and my friends the impression was .... impressive
Thank you for coming in france ...
We hope to see you very soon

My boyfriend (Joe - 46) and I (Barbara
- 49) are from the USA. We just saw your concert on Friday December
9, 2005 in Lakewood NJ. It was absolutely fantastic. We are looking
forward to your new CD in 2006. We would love to see you do more
shows in the NJ area. We would come to every one!!!!! The Strand
Theatre in Lakewood was a great spot. I don't think there is a bad
seat in the entire theatre. This can be posted in either the Fan
Comments or Concert Reviews. We just can say enough how much we
enjoyed the show and your CD/DVD'.

Regarding Scottish Rite show Dec 10 2005
As a long
time fan of Ritchies music i would like to comment on the show that
night. I was seated in the front row stage left so i could sense
that it was not to be that night. First off i heard the guard telling
some of the fans not to use their cell phones during the show to
take pictures... just sit back and enjoy his brillance on the guitar.
I feel cheated from seeing a show i have waited a long time to see.
I purchased your dvd castles & dreams and this will probably
be the only footage Iwill see in this area for a long time. oh and
to the guy in the crowd who ruined it for all of us. Ritchie was
playing if you just would have listened.

Greetings,
I attended your show at the Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood
NJ last night and I must say it was a pleasent surprise. I was unfamilliar
with your newer material (post 80's) and I must say I am impressed.
I have been a long time fan of Deep Purple and Rainbo and prog rock
and classical music. I am a 47 year old keyboardist/ songwriter
so i appreciate great music and musicianship and Blackmore's Night
is chocked full of both. Needless to say I purchased your DVD set
and look forward to owning all of your cd's. I am starving for great
new music in an artistically challenged age and it is inspiring
to hear yours. Thanks for not selling out to the evil barons that
present disposable to the masses. You brought a wonderful gift of
song to us in Collingswood this holiday season. Here's wishing you
all safety,magic and yuletide cheer.
Please feel free to this letter or any part of it on your website

Hello!
And thank you for a wonderful Christmas concert! Actually, we agreed
it was the best one we've ever seen! ( We've been to 4 in the last
two years, and of course, wishing there were more :) )

Having
spent this year re-discovering the playing of Ritchie and getting
to grips with Blackmore's Night I went to the Newcastle concert
with my fiance and we both came away knowing we had witnessed something
special.
The sound was
superb, to see Ritchie dance around the fretboard and hear the most
wonderful playing, watching the joy on both Ritchies and Candice's
faces was something to remember.

Thanks for the wonderful concert last night (December 8, 2005) at
the NY Society for Ethical Culture hall. This is our third time
seeing the band (previously we were at the shows at Westbury Music
Fair and the Patchogue Theater) and it just gets better and better.
The music of course is terrific but the warmth and fun that just
exudes from Candice (and even Ritchie this time!) just seems to
grow as time goes on. Coming from a family of classical musicians
I am always enthralled at hearing some of the instruments that are
used, and at the skills displayed by the band members.
We also enjoyed The Geyers. Each time we have seen Blackmore's Night,
we have been introduced to wonderful new music. The first time it
was Wyndfall, who I still listen to on their CD's. The Geyers were
entertaining and very talented, and obviously you enjoy them as
much as we did.
Thanks again for all your work on this 'project' and we look forward
to seeing more of you in the future. As a fellow Long Islander I
will hope that you play more in our area, possibly including some
of the unique small venues we have right on the Island.

I have to say that the music is fantastic. My brother introduced

also magnificant.

Thank you all for a great night in Edinburgh 25th October 2005.
I had travelled over from Ireland, and was trilled to bits to see
Blackmores Night. It was fantastic to meet you Carole, to meet Ritchie
and Candice made it an unbelievable night. You all very gracious
people. I have added a couple of pictures of me meeting Ritchie
and Candice. Thank you again, and please come and visit N.Ireland,
and check our Castles.

Hail, I'm a big fan of Blackmore's Night. The band
is just perfect. Everything in the musics is so clean and perfect,
and everything flows so well, that in the first time I heard I said:
This isn't true!
Well, do you
have intentions to come here in Brazil? I would love it. Not with
the same musical genre, but this year (2005), some great bands have
singed here. It was the best year for music here. But, if you do
a show here, please sing here in Minas Gerais too, because I can't
go to São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.
Hmm that's it,
a simple and great tip/comment that would please me and a lot of
friends. See you here!

Hi folks,
just thought I had to write and let you all know how much my friend
and I enjoyed your concert at Aylesbury on Samhein 2005. My friend
and mentor and myself travelled to Aylesbury from London in full
medieval costume which I made cloaked against the inclement weather.
Never having been to Aylesbury before it was quite an adventure
for both of us, I had earlier that month introduced your wonderful
music to my friend and she was eagerly awaiting seeing you live
and dear friends you did not disappoint in the slightest. We were
seated up on the right hand stage and had an excellent vantage point,
the duo of clerics and dandified gents in our row were most effusive
in their compliments on our gowns, lol.
As the intro began I felt the power race around the assembled audience
and the cheering erupted with enthusiasm and well deserved praise
for you wonderful minstrels. Candices' comments about "I here
the witches are with us tonight" made us both chuckle , you
don't know how right you were sweet songstress. One can only marvel
at the sheer entertainment value provided by your good selves and
the whole concert was indeed one big party. The time flew past as
we became enchanted by your web of sweet ballads, humour, good fellowship
and spine tingling accoustics from the maestro, or should I say
from all of the virtuoso performers who graced the stage that night.
We missed our last train back to London but very kindly another
fan offered us a lift back in his car with him and his girlfriend
providing we would wait with them in their car at the stage door
. We did grateful to be able to return to London for the remainder
of the night and our rituals which awaited completion.Sorry Sir
Robert that I did not have a pen to provide you with my e.mail address
but was grateful for the oppertunity to tell you in person how much
I had enjoyed the concert. We finally arrived back home circa 02
30 a.m. and after a most amazing and productive night the wonderful
shining energy you all produced fuelled our Samhein Ritual to a
wonderful conclusion to a perfect evening. Thankl you all , come
back soon , we miss you already. May McLachlan and Sami Randsxx

Greetings,
I'm a big fan of the music that you do, and my sweet lady and I
have attended a number of the concerts in the NY area.I am a working
musician and I was doing a session at a Long Island studio and I
had the privilege of being in the studio when some of the engineering
and mixing was being done from one of your live performances. We
all know what a world class guitarist / musician that Richie is
and we all have fallen in love with Candace's voice and performances.
I heard an isolation track of Candace singing, live and I was amazed.
I've worked with a lot of singers and most of them don't sound that
good when isolated from a live track. She was clear, beautiful and
never missed a note. She didn't slide into a note the way some singers
do, she was just ON. It was a pleasure Bravo! We have our tickets
for the December 8th performance in NY and we are looking forward
to it. Just keep that great music coming. We love it.

Hello,
I am sending a million thanks for Blackmores Night for wonderful
concert in
Schloss Tambach!
I travelled from Finland to Frankfurt Hahn Airport
rented a Jeep there,
drove 425 kilometers both ways to see my favourite band and it was
very well
worthwhile.
The band was playing so well that evening. Of course
Candice was the Lady of
the Evening there. And Ritchie's playing inspired me so much. Even
to the
point that I bought a Strat for myself.
I was not able to attend rest of the tour and for
sure I missed a lot. But
one is better than nothing.
I would really like to see you guys in Finland again
as soon as possible.
And if there is anything I can do to help/support/promote Blackmore's
Night
here, pls let me know. I would be truly honored.
Please do send my greetings to Candice and Ritchie!
Positively sincerely,

Dear Ritchie and Candice
Having
heard the mini Christmas CD accompanying Beyond the Sunset, I wondered
if you had ever thought of producing an album with all the old carols
and songs from centuries back, in true medieval style. I just love
your arrangement of O Come, O come Emmanuel (which is a great favourite
advent hymn of mine), and We Three Kings, and thought that to have
an entire album of material like that would really convey the Christmas
spirit of old.
I
do so enjoy your music and look forward to seeing you on your next
European tour. Lots of love to you and the rest of the band and
I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and New Year.

Greeting,
About a year or 2 ago, at our Beltaine Festival here in Salem, MA
we were given a Blackmore's night promo C.D. My wife of course was
who is this band?
So she popped in the promo CD in to the car played and played it.
We became and instant fans, we both fell in love with the music.
Our words, "Now that is music!"
We recently purchased the DVD Castle and Dreams and I have to say
the whole family was spell-bound. Between the beautiful voice /
lyrics of Candice, the Guitar playing of Richie, the beautiful harmonies
of the Sisters of the Moon, and the fantasic playing of the rest
of the band, every song we have heard is just beautiful.
Blackmore's Night is a wonderful, long awaited and refreshing change
from all the music that is out there today.
I have been following the guitar of Mr. Blackmore since the I first
heard the song HUSH and I have been amazed by his guitar playing
skills. Deep Purple got my interest in playing music. I have to
say now ever since I have heard the CD, Blackmore's night has me
hooked.
I have recently started our own small ren type instrumental band
here just for fun.
With bagpipes, flutes, drums and guitars. It's very enjoyable!
We were also wondering if you had any plans to play the Boston area,
perhaps the Hammond Castle? You know have a huge fan base hear that
would love to hear you live. If I build a Castle, will they come?
8)
You music had truly touched our very soul.
Thank you all for sharing with us your gift of music, we truly enjoy
it!
In love and Light!

Night of the desires
It was an cold
mid winters night. I started from Memmingen and was on my way to
mandalay.
I was in thoughts and nur eine Minute( only one minute ), i still
remember because of the time with you.
About our Spanish nights ( I remember it well )…
You were my Queen for a day and I your Soldier of fortune. Oh my
god, wish you were here!
Now and then you live your own life.
Is there no second chance for us ? My hope still stay’s on
!
Suddenly, of one second on the other one, a tempest, a storm breaks
in here over me.
In the shadow of the moon, I saw 3 black crows are sitting on a
hanging tree and all around me changes in a Magical world.
I was fascinated, because all reminded me at stories of Avalon.
Now I´am walking under a violet moon !
In the distance I saw a Village on the sand and a building, it looks
like an Ivory tower.
I approached curiously, on the village square I saw strangely dressed
humans.
Noblemen, knights, Magier and young women danced to a celestially
beautiful music.
Someone called with loud voice: the clock ticks on, ignite the fires
at midnight and dance the Mond Tanz ( moon dance ) for the crowning
of the king.
I felt as if I would home have come.
A young girl brought me a glass with dandelion wine.. it tasted
like honey, or better …
I heard a noise beside me and saw into the face of an old man with
friendly eyes.
You hear the Wind in the willows, he ask me ?
I believe I´m dreaming, I answers.
He smiles and said, dreams are the fool´s gold my friend,
take me by the hand and led me into the Minstrel hall, and I heard
to call again and again: play minstrel play!
There many humans and they all looked at me and I heard the voice
of the old man as from far distance: They all are waiting just for
you, … for a long time !
You home again!
In the middle of the hall stood an altar with a beautiful black
rose.
From the rose a celestially beautiful woman and I floated heard
her say: I am the Ghost of a rose.
She saw my disbelieving face expression … yes, she said :
that’s all because of you.
Your love, your hope aroused us again to the life. Please stay and
be mine tonight,
thus humans will remember ours in their dreams and their songs.
Life´s like Diamonds and Rust, … the songs are the Diamonds
…
No one knows, where are we going from here … then …
We sang and danced the whole night, the time stood quietly... then
completely suddenly were all away … gone with the wind !
I saw the Morning star, beyond the sunset …
I don´t know if that all was real or unreal.
But one is certain, I will find it again someday.
The End

I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing your concert at Amsterdam
last Friday 14th Oct.
I was visiting a friend and he had booked the tickets a while ago,
and thinking I was sure to like it, arranged one for me as well.
My admiration for Ritchie also goes back many years to Deep Purple
and Rainbow days but I had not seen Ritchie in this particular genre
before and I was transfixed - it was so fantastic! How clever of
you both! I had duly dressed up and immediately felt transported
to medieval days!
So a big thank you for such pleasure. I live in Brighton, England
and unfortunately your British concerts do not come too near here
but I'm sure it will happen again one of these days...
with love and thanks

Hi to

.. Ritchie (I hope too)
or anybody else of the band
I would like
to thank you for the Concert in Kranichfeld. It was a very
special event and means a lot to me. I was coming from Zurich, Switzerland
all the long way up to Kranichfeld (550km, 6.5h) just to see you
there. Your
performance was every km worth.
This concert
in Kranichfeld even compensate the not very nice Concert from
last year in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. I know, it was not your
fault, but it was
not a concert to recommend. Maybe you remember.
But back to
the good one. Its really amazing how the voice and presence of
Candice works with the performance of all of your other band members.
All
fits together and makes it to a very nice music event. You have
my deep
respect, especially Candice.
I hope I will see you soon on a Show in Switzerland.
Many thanks,
again

I just wanted to tell RB that as
a drummer/percussionist for over 30 years, and now a fledgling guitarist
for the past 8 (so I could get into writing and recording), he has
been a tremendous inspiration to me lately. I have always been a
fan of his far more than a DP fan, and after recently viewing a
Rainbow concert from Munich '77, I must
say that I am a bigger fan than ever. And I love BN, I hope that
I get a chance to see them live in the future and get the DVD when
it's released in the states. Ritchie is truly one of a handful of
the very best, and I'm scouring EBAY to find one of the Signature
Strats...it looks like they aren't producing them any longer. To
close, I look forward to new BM and thanks for such a rich catalog
of great music over the last 30+ years (Machine Head was one of
the first LPs that I bought !!!), I can remember it's release, ...I
wasn't even 10 years old, but I was already playing trumpet and
snare drum.

only to put on a BN cd.
Must have played it 4 times already, only had it 2 weeks. One question,
what colour are Cadice's eyes?. Only in some songs there Brown &
others there Blue. Does it have any thing to do with German TV?.
As l know they like blonde hair blue eyes.
Getting very, very excited as my best friend & l are going to

Thanks again for a FAB dvd.

Greetings from Croatia! from Dario
The magic of Blackmore's Night has reached us several years ago
and since then we are following the band wherever we can and as
much as our financial situation allows us. We were lucky to get
a couple of tickets for the last concert of the German tour this
year, Munich. I must say that the atmosphere there surpassed anything
we had seen before and sparked again the eternal question... Is
there a chance for our favorite band of minstrels to visit Croatia
some day? Our country is old. First king was crowned in 925 AD and
our countryside is rich in old castles, beautiful nature and a feeling
of times long past. I can send you some links to our famous castles
and old towns such as Trakoscan or Ozalj. There is a popular colosseum
like arena in the city of Pula which saw many international musicians
in last ten years.
Watching the DVD and seeing at last how Candice and Ritchie felt,
I gained a whole new perspective of them and of course Carole, their
manager whose eyes showed the genuine passion for her work and pleasure
of seeing joy in all the fans... I am now asking that all of you
consider giving this special magical joy to our Croatian fans, many
of who can't afford to travel abroad to see the band play live.
Thank you for your time and may you continue creating such wonderful
events for many years to come!

My wife and I attended the Las Vegas show and it was just as incredible
as the Chicago performance we attended on Sept, 25th 2004. We loved
the different versions of Writing On The Wall & I Still Remember.
If we didn't have kids we would be flying to every show, and we
don't like to fly. Ritchie and Candice seemed alot more playful
at the Vegas concert, I think Candice brings out the best in Ritchie,
he has evolved musically in my opinion. We came to Vegas dressed
in full medieval garb and we were the first in line so they upgraded
us to special seating right in front row. We have listened to Ritchie's
music for the last twenty six years and we really have enjoyed how
up close and personal the concerts have become. We have turned many
people on to Blackmore's Night including our Castle builder. It
is our dream to some day have Blackmore's Night perform at our Castle(Castle
Chalon). We also wanted to give special thanks to Candice for singing
her heart out at the Chicago show, we knew she had an upper respiratory
infection and had to seek medical attention afterwards. Candice
that showed us that you give it your all to the fans. We look forward
to having you perform at Castle Chalon in a couple years.

I had seen Ritchie a couple times in the past and have always admired
his playing. When I heard he had a new band I was interested to
hear it. Although it was very different than his Deep Purple and
Rainbow stuff, his playing was still fantastic as ever. Candy's
voice was very refreshing as were the songs on their album. I really
wanted to see them live and when I found out they would be in the
Los Angeles area, I had to get tickets.
The concert
was more than I had expected. The opening act really set the mood
for the evening and when Ritchie and Candy took the stage they gave
us, the crowd, a great musical experience. Unless you see them live,
it is hard to really get the feeling from the CD's. It is a night
of fun...which is what a concert is supposed to be, but isn't always
the case. This was just plain fun. I would see them again anytime,
anywhere.

We flew into Vegas from North Idaho. Ran into a few of the
folks we met at the Chicago show in Sept. The House of Blues had
a few rules that weren't much fun (no cameras - so they could sell
you photos, no tankards, etc. ) but we persevered.
We all enjoyed the show so much. Though we love your recordings,
hearing and seeing you in person is great fun (so is dressing up!).
Your opening act (Owen) was great and kept us all entertained. I
think we would have liked BlackmoresNight to have filled that time
though since the show ended up to be so short.
The bar noise was a little loud and there weren't as many stand
up and dance folks there.
We enjoyed the changes in Fires at Midnight and I Still Remember.
It was good to see the show with everyone healthy again (Candice
was sick in Chicago, but still belting out the songs fabulously)
and good to see Ritchie and Candice having some fun on stage.
Wish we could have followed the whole West Coast tour but. . .
Thanks to the band for coming out west!

Susanne was such a great help and we finally made it to the Klaffenbach
concert on July 23
It was a long way to go to see only one concert (20 hours flying
time), but it was well worth it.
A fantastic way to spend my 50th birthday.
We met Susanne and Rainer Klos at the castle and spent the day with
them
They made us part of everything that went on and feel so welcome.
The concert was wonderful beyond our expectations.
We unfortunately did not get to meet the great man himself, but
I guess everyone wants his time.
Candice did touch my hand and I have not washed it since...giggle.
We watched the DVD last night and relived the day...........
Thank you once again.

I've attended Blackmore's Night in Los Angeles last week. It was
truly an enjoyable experience -- there was a renaissance magic in
the air. I was hopping for some old Deep Purple tunes, but only
one new rendition of Child In Time was played.
Ritchie is as fiery and artistic as ever, and Ms. Night singes with
so much romance and seduction that one gets easily hypnotized by
her passion.

We are so elated
that you finally graced the West Coast with your magickal presence.
You were all magnificent. I particularly loved the wind instrument
which Candice played to great effect. The violinist rivalled Paganini
and Ritchie seems to be growing younger with each lilting note!
The CD and DVD - the two for only $15 are a true Keepsake. Blackmore's
night MADE my Imbolc**** Please return to enchant us once again.

There
was not a bad seat in the house!
Candice and Ritchie and the rest of your great musicians,
Thanks so much for making it to the West Coast. I was happy to hear
my favorite songs and Candice your voice was beautiful! You also
complimented my wings-THANK YOU!
Ritchie-it was a great pleasure to see you perform. I have to admit
I would love to see you at some point in the future reunite with
Ronnie James. I do not know if that is even possible. This was the
first time I have ever seen you perform live and I have to say I
am bummed I missed your rock tours.
I love Blackmores Night and will anxiously await your next CD. I
am a big fan of your music-it's beautiful and I get lost in another
world when I am listening to it.
Take care and I hope to see you all perform live again and this
time I will bring my 6 and 4 year old children. It seemed quite
nice for kids. My children love your music and my daughter would
just love to see Candice.

Having wanted to see Blackmore's Night for years I was quite happy
to finally get to see them in person. It was an amazing show, full
of energy, fun and humor. There were some technical issues with
an instrument of Richie's at the start of the show and some lucky
fan was the recipient of said instrument but otherwise the show
was simply amazing. Richie's playing was awesome and Candice was
simply beautiful. I've been to several concerts in my life and this
was by far one of the ones I have enjoyed the most. I hope at they
come back to the west coast very soon!

As a lifelong Blackmore fan (Rainbow perhaps more than DP), I thoroughly
enjoyed the Saturday night show. The crowd was somewhat subdued
but it may be because Blackmore's Night is not as well known in
the Western U.S. and several people apparently thought they were
in for a DP/Rainbow greatest hits show. More's the pity. Mr. B.,
your skill is unsurpassed and the setting allowed those who cared
to observe to actually SEE you play. the only complaint I have is
that your soundmen allowed, at several times, for the instrument
you were playing to be overridden by the violin (excellent though
the violinist was). Ms. Night was wonderful not only in her peformance
but in her diplomacy and managed to keep things light when they
could have soured. Finally, a suggestion, if I may, to perhaps help
appease those who want to hear something from your pre-minstrel
catalogue-I think "Catch the Rainbow" would make a wonderful
addition to your set list without straying too far from your chosen
genre. To borrow a term from Ms. Night-I think Blackmorizing that
song with the tremendous ensemble you have would sound fabulous.
Thank you all. A Night to Remember.

Hello
all!
Had an excellent time at the show
There were a few technical gaffs but the playing and singing were
brilliant! Personal highlights for me were Ghost Of A Rose and Candy's
renditon of Diamonds And Rust (Would have loved to heard Ocean Gypsy
also) Other memorable songs included Fires at Midnight, Home Again
&, Renaissance Faire (both very fun!) Under A Violet Moon, and
I Still Remember. The new cover of Deep Purple's Child In Time was
a nice surprise but to me the song went on too long with really
not much changing.A minor quibble....
Ritchie, Candice, and the the rest of the band really seemed to
be enjoying themselves. This was my first time seeing the band live
and didn't know what kind of attitude they would present on stage.I
was pleased to find the group loose and audiance friendly.
All in all, a wonderful time was had by all! I look forward to the
DVD this spring!

FANTASTIC SHOW!!!!!! I have all the albums, but I truly did not
know what to expect from Blackmore's Night live. Some of the best
musicianship it has ever been my pleasure to hear. And, the show
was very well paced. I truly enjoyed the show and am looking forward
to seeing many Blackmores Night concerts in the future.

THE JOY
OF SEEING BLACKMORE’S NIGHT AT LONG LAST, AFTER YEARS OF WAITING
BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES.
The west coast is not an easy place to tour.To all of you, sincerest
thanks from all of us, who saw you and those who wanted to and could
not.
I saw BN twice! In Las Vegas and in SF. This was a true Pilgrimage
for me. But that is a mile that goes on forever.
I first heard Deep Purple IN ROCK on a Saturday as a teen-ager.
I had played guitar for some years and I didn’t think it was
possible to play guitar like that, perhaps it’s not unless
you’re Blackmore.
I know where I was exactly the first time I heard every Blackmore
album from that time to this; often I wait till a significant event.
f
Blackmore has been my
prophet, his music expressed pieces of my life, even guidance and
direction sometimes.
The Way to Mandalay.
(Mandalay I had to look up), I heard first Autumn Equinox of 2002.
Her lyrics express my Warrior Priest’s Quest, Blakemore’s
guitar at the end is what my feelings sound like inside. Could I
have been misguided by the Mystics ways?
I had hoped to hear Way to Mandalay, at Mandalay, it seemed so fitting.
It was the Way to Mandalay; at least it was for me. This venue provided
much more comfort to the band; we got longer sets, some Strat guitar.
But it was all so moving. When a musician can move you to weep…There
was a girl next to me, I don’t know her. The opening chords
of Ghost of a Rose (and Soldier of Fortune) inspired me to ask to
hold her hand. We had tears in our eyes at the end, and she thanked
me for holding her hand.
I was in the front row and the power and presence of these minstrels
cannot be described. The adoration of the “gathering”
toward Ritchie and Candice cannot be overstated.
We love them. I love them. I saw Rainbow five times; Deep Purple
(with Ritchie) seven more.
I have loved
Ritchie Blackmore every note I heard.
I love him the more because Candice Night loves him, and I love
her all the more because Blackmore loves her. If you had seen them
up close you would understand that.
SF there were problems with the venue, funny noises that Ritchie
didn’t like. Adjustments needed to be made. But this night
I hold closest. All in Good Company, and humour. We raised our glasses
and we danced in the aisles. Blackmore reached down and squeezed
my hand, someone rows behind said “Man, you touched a god!”
The entire band played wonderfully and the special talents of Ladies
Nancy & Madeline cannot be underestimated. Singing Child in
Time is no small Quest. (My younger daughter was born at home to
Child in Time, the Philharmonic Concert. They played Hanging Tree
this night, “Let’s just you and me play” said
Ritchie At the end of Ghost of a Rose I placed a white rose on the
stage at Ms. Night’ feet and she blew me a kiss. I hope when
she sees a white rose now she will think of me. I love her so…
She squeezed many of our hands good-night. Her purity, her warmth,
her good-natured humor and her talents are a Spell of such…blessing
as to be from within the Blessed Heart of that which is Sacred.
Perhaps this sounds extreme, for someone I don’t know, except
there are those of you who know what I mean…and I do know
them. Ritchie referred to this music as “healing” and
she has said “we are friends they don’t know yet”.
They are family we only know from song. They give a beautiful voice
to our Heart of Hearts, “at least it is for me."

First off I want to thank Candice and Ritchie for coming to California,
and making a dream come true. We were able to go to three shows
starting at home in San Diego, and what a great night, Candice was
so good that night, the single best performance we have ever seen
from a singer, amazing feeling, we knew she was good, and now we
know she is the best. The whole band was great, and gave everyone
such a good feeling, we felt like we were among friends, Ritchie
was great throughout, and the rest of the band were to, Diamonds
and Rust was a highlight as Candice made us all feel like she was
singing to each one of us, we were even treated to a great version
of Smoke on the Water with the slow version to start the song, I
have alway perfered it done this way, it reminds me of the way Rainbow
did it with JLT on vocals, but again Candice out did all other singer`s
to sing this song, a fantastic night. Next we saw the tow show`s
in LA, the first at the Grove was the longest of the three we saw,
and Ritchie was really playing great with the extended guitar part
in Fires at Midnight being one of many highlights, another has to
be the Hurdy Gurdy which was great to watch and hear, we were treated
to an extra encore with Times are Changing, and Dandlion Wine, we
also were treated to the fantasic song Now and Then. The only problem
on this night was the yelling out from the crowd, I really wish
everyone would save the yelling for inbetween songs, and not durning,
so the music can take us away with it. The last night of the tour
was interesting to say the least, a few in the crowd with un-needed
yelling, but credit to Ritchie and Candice to still pull off a great
show of acoustic music. They won over many new fans the were there
for the histroy of Ritchie and did`nt get what they expected, but
fell for this great music Blackmores Night plays, I hope things
went well enough so they can return very soon, thanks for the best
weekend we`ve had in year`s.. Dave Sherrod..

Since I have been a fan of Ritchie's since the first Deep Purple
album in 1968, I have always been a fervent Blackmore loyalist and
devotee of all of his projects. Who knew that I would enjoy Blackmore's
Night Live at least as much as any hard rock show over the years,
and in many ways, this was the best I had seen Ritchie play live
(and certainly the happiest). My wife, Rose and brother Doug joined
me at 4th & B, a smallish concert house hollowed out of an old
bank building smack dab in the city center of San Diego. Having
followed recent setlists from my well-worn copies of "More
Black Than Purple," I had a rough idea of what the set would
hold. "Cartouche" is an excellent opener, with Candice
in high spirits and proving to be an enchanting mistress of ceremonies
for the evening. Ritchie looked great, surely in better shape than
some men half his age, and it was apparent he was having a ball
from the first song onward. Highlights included "Soldier of
Fortune," "Diamonds and Rust," "Morning Star,"
"I Still Remember" and a rousing "Mond Tanz/Child
in Time" featuring the fetching Sisters of the Moon out front
on vocals. We were rewarded with an extended, Strat-rocking encore
that would include "Smoke on the Water" as a nice reward
for an audience of 500 that truly respected and enjoyed the music.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the
rousing San Diego show, my wife Rose and I returned with my other
brother Dan to one of our favorite local concert halls, The Grove.
This is a high-ceiling mini-palace, standing in the shadow of Disneyland
and Angel Stadium, with tiered seating and some folks eating dinner
near the rear. We sat front and center in the fifth row, many Ren-garbed
revellers seated in front of us. Like the San Diego show, "Cartouche"
was a fine opener leading in to "Play Minstrel Play" and
"Under A Violet Moon." Some new songs were thrown into
the mix, such as a playful "Mister Peagram's Morris and Sword"
and, later, "The Clock Ticks On", that were absent from
the San Diego show. This show had a larger audience (1,000+) and
therefore was on a grander scale, but Ritchie was much more playful
with the crowd, handing out brews from the get-go and even some
silver chalices to some lucky fans. He was often on his knees, exhorting
the crowd, and changing the set a bit with an often hilarious teasing
interplay with Candice. Her rendition of "Diamonds and Rust"
was a showstopper, and "Ghost of a Rose" was simply beautiful.
Candice is a star now, no doubt about that. This show's main set
ended after an extended, uplifting performance of "Mond Tanz"/"Child
in Time," with Ritchie surprising the band by motioning them
offstage at the end of the song. Ritchie knows when the high point
is reached, as any good band leader does. My fears of a shortened
show were ill-founded, as the band returned for a nine-song encore
that included some fancy hurdy gurdy in "The Clock Ticks On,"
a slaphappy "All for One" and a soft extended coda of
"The Times They Are A' Changing", "Dandelion WIne"
and "Now and Then." A perfect end to a perfect night.
Many thanks to Ritchie, Candice, Carole and the band for choosing
to tour the West Coast. Please don't be strangers to us all!

Blackmore's Night is superb. We loved every
song, every member of the group is very talented and Blackmore and
Night are really super stars. We will continue to buy cd's and will
go again if ever presented the opportunity.
I would suggest that the group try to do a college tour. I think
with the right publicity, especially on the west coast, it would
be a tremendous success. College campuses generally have very good
facilities with not drinking etc. so I think you would do extremely
well.
My friends and I wish you every success and maybe someday could
meet you in person.

I attended both the San Diego show and the Orange County show --
great! My sons (11 and 14) were able to go with me to the latter
(San Diego was limited to 21+), and they had a tremendous time.
All the musicians were superb, Candice's voice was better than on
the records, and Ritchie was mahvelous, simply mahvelous. I think
what I enjoyed the most was that BN is willing to go go back to
the roots of western music -- fun melodies, lilting lyrics, and
true group spirit and enjoyment. Please don't forget us on the West
Coast when the new album comes out -- even if the band can only
make one stop in L.A. or O.C. on the way to Japan, it would be great
-- sign me up now!!! --

It truly was a great pleasure to finally see Ritchie & Candice
perform last Tuesday at The Independent, in S.F. Briefly mentioned
to his bass player and backup vocalists was a great show, afterwards.
The performance was excellent. Candice is very mystical and quite
a magical vocalist/musician. What better guitarist to make a perfect
marriage/harmony of endless incredible melodies...Ritchie Blackmore~
Was happy to purchase two of their cds (Beyond The Sunset &
Past Times With Good Co.) at the show. The live cd is fantastic,
as well as Beyond The Sunset. Love the Bonus dvd and Xmas cd. Emanuel
is an amazing cover, my fav on that Xmas disc.
Best wishes to everyone at the Blackmore's Night campfire~
