ridiculous item of the day. We were shocked and appalled to learn in the last few days that someone has removed Ritchie's image from the Machine Head tee shirts. Apparently this was done just because someone doesn't want Ritchie to receive any money from their sales. Tony Edwards, the original manager of Deep Purple feels the same way about this alteration of the image. "The first I knew of Machine Head shirts being sold, original or altered, were the Highway Star reports. I think the distortion of the original iconic image, largely conceived by my former partner the late John Coletta, is unworthy of those involved. It is not only artistic sacrilege but a lousy epitaph." |
