BLACKMORE'S
NIGHT "Ghost Of A Rose" CD 80/100
Folk Rock
USA Many
words could describe this great piece of art but I think only a
few can hit the bull's eye. I even think that merely three words
are enough to perfectly synthesize Blackmore's new creation. The
first one is authentic. Authentic because Ritchie never changed
his style for commercial purposes. He's been playing what he wanted
for a while now and I can assume he'll keep on proudly following
his own path for another decade or even more; no doubt about it...
The second one is intense. Intense because it makes you feel very
alive; even happy to be alive! And it's not only the great singing
of Candice Night that will shake your hormones. No. It's the whole
thing. It's as if the songs are magic potions and you've fallen
into the cauldron. Drowned into a sea of joy... The third and last
keyword fits in with the first two. It is spiritual. And that, you
really can't deny because Blackmore's Night's music creates a very
unique atmosphere that make your spirit detach itself from its earthly
condition and wander through ethereal dreamy dimensions. And you
feel appeased. If you're allergic to hurdy-gurdy's and bagpipes,
avoid it. Otherwise, steal it now!
